FBI Director Kash Patel has announced his first major operation, leading to the arrest of 39 individuals, including high-ranking members of MS-13, as part of efforts to enforce immigration laws and secure the border. One significant arrest was David Alejandro Orellana-Aleman, a top MS-13 leader, who was detained on February 27 in Maryland. Orellana-Aleman, a 27-year-old from El Salvador, had previously faced charges for firearm possession, extortion, and supporting terrorism.
In addition to these arrests, Patel has proposed a collaboration between the FBI and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to enhance agents’ physical fitness. The partnership, aimed at improving conditioning and combat readiness, has garnered attention, marking a bold shift in the FBI’s approach to workforce development under Patel’s leadership.
