“You’ll be the brightest star,” her father whispered, his voice fading. Sofia wept beside him as he gently stroked her hair. “If life becomes too hard, find Mikhail—he owns the ‘Breeze’ restaurant. He won’t abandon you.” Moments later, he was gone.
After the funeral, Sofia’s stepmother turned cold. “Find a job or leave,” she demanded. Despite Sofia’s studies and dreams of singing, she was thrown out with a suitcase and nowhere to go. Remembering her father’s words, she approached the “Breeze” restaurant.
Mikhail, her father’s old friend, was shocked by the news. Offering comfort, he welcomed Sofia into his home. When a singer canceled at the last minute, Sofia volunteered. Her voice silenced the entire room. Mikhail whispered, “Elena… our daughter will be a star.”
Unknown to Sofia, Mikhail had once loved her mother and caused a rift that ended their friendship. He chose not to share this pain with her.
Later, her stepmother dined at the restaurant, unaware Sofia would perform. As Sofia sang, the guests were spellbound. Her stepmother, humiliated and bitter, turned her back on the stage.
But Sofia stood tall—her voice rising, her dream beginning. Her father’s wish was in motion: she would shine.
