Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was robbed while dining in Washington, DC, on Sunday night. A man in a surgical mask was seen on security footage taking her bag, which contained her passport, DHS badge, keys, prescription, and $3,000 in cash.
The Secret Service is investigating.
Meanwhile, Noem announced that two individuals who allegedly leaked ICE operation details had been identified. She vowed prosecution, saying leakers put law enforcement at risk. DHS plans to refer the suspects to the DOJ for felony charges, which could lead to up to 10 years in prison.
Noem also criticized the FBI, calling it corrupt. The FBI Agents Association rejected her claims, stating that their agents work closely with DHS to enforce immigration laws and protect national security, calling her allegations unfounded and harmful.
