New details have emerged about Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s deaths, following a 911 call made by a caretaker. The caller, who was unable to enter the house, reported seeing Arakawa lying down through the window and confirmed the couple was unresponsive. He expressed distress, saying, “I think we just found two [or] one deceased person inside a house.”
Hackman, 95, and Arakawa, 64, were found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, along with one of their dogs. Arakawa’s body was described as being in a state of decomposition. Authorities have ruled out foul play, but the cause of death remains undetermined. The family initially suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, but no leaks were found.
An official investigation is ongoing.
