Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently stated that he is “ready to sign” a minerals deal with the U.S., which was delayed after a tense meeting with former President Donald Trump.
Speaking at Stansted Airport, Zelensky emphasized that he wants Ukraine’s position to be heard.
During the meeting, the two leaders clashed, with Trump accusing Zelensky of not being grateful enough for U.S. military aid. Tensions flared, and the planned minerals deal, involving U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, was paused.
Despite the confrontation, Zelensky expressed gratitude to the U.S. and European allies for their support. Additionally, he remarked that he is “exchangeable for NATO,” suggesting his presidency could end once Ukraine joins the alliance.
Meanwhile, European leaders are focusing on building stronger defense alliances to ensure Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.
